Welcome to
Meet Emma
Hi, I’m Emma.
I offer counselling in a quiet, calming space in Wilmslow. It’s a place where you can talk openly, without judgement, and feel like someone’s really listening.
Life isn’t always straightforward. Sometimes you know exactly what’s bothering you, other times it’s just a vague heaviness that’s hard to pin down. Things like anxiety, low mood, grief, or struggles in relationships can leave you feeling stuck or worn out.
I work with teenagers, adults and relationships. This could mean couples, siblings, parent and child, or other family dynamics. Counselling with me isn’t about being told what to do. It’s about having space to make sense of what you’re going through and finding ways forward that feel manageable for you.
If this resonates and you would like to book a session, or arrange an initial 15 minute chat on the phone, please get in touch.
How counselling helps…
Get to know yourself better
Counselling can help you understand yourself more deeply. Through therapy, you begin to see who you really are, what you value, and why you respond in certain ways. This awareness makes it easier to make changes and to look after your mental health.
Many people find themselves saying things in the therapy room that they cannot believe they had not realised before. It is a safe space to explore, reflect, and discover parts of yourself that may have been hidden or overlooked. When you have a clearer sense of yourself, it is easier to make choices that fit with who you are. It also makes it possible to approach your relationships with more openness and understanding.
Learn coping skills for life
Counselling helps you develop strategies to manage your mental health more effectively. Over time, these skills strengthen your resilience and give you the confidence to depend on yourself.
A safe and confidential space
Counselling offers something different: a safe and confidential space where you can simply be yourself. In everyday life, we often feel pressure to show up in certain ways or meet the expectations of others. In therapy, there are no expectations. Instead, there is acceptance of you and your story. It is a space to explore what feels difficult right now, as well as experiences from the past if that feels important.
Friends are wonderful, but a counsellor offers something different
Friends are important, but counselling gives you something else. It is a private space where you do not have to worry about being judged, given advice, or asked to listen in return. The focus is fully on you. It is time set aside to talk things through, make sense of your thoughts, and notice things you might not have realised before. With the right support, it becomes easier to understand yourself and work out what feels best for you.
Find inner resources you didn’t know you had
Therapy isn’t about sitting around complaining and blaming others. It’s about discovering your inner power to see different perspectives and make different choices. With awareness, you can learn what steps are needed to take action and regain control over your behaviours in order to move towards positive change.
Understand others and improve relationships.
Counselling can be a valuable tool for improving relationships, whether it’s with a partner, family members, or friends. By providing a safe and supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings, counselling can help you develop healthier communication skills, resolve conflicts more effectively, and strengthen your bonds with loved ones.
