Counselling for adults and young people
& Relationship Counselling
Services
Whether you are seeking counselling for yourself, your relationship or your young person, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation if you’d like to find out more before booking a session.
I work in a neurodivergent-friendly way, aiming to create a space where clients don’t have to mask or fit a mould, and where therapy adapts to them, rather than expecting them to adapt to the therapy. Having an ADHD diagnosis myself, I understand some of the realities this can bring and how it can shape daily life.
Teenagers and young People
Working with young people is something I feel passionate about. I have three children of my own and spent 15 years working in education, so I understand the challenges young people face. They need to feel validated and heard, and sometimes that means having support outside of parents, teachers, or friends.
I connect easily with young people and genuinely enjoy hearing what they have to say. Humour often has a place in my sessions, alongside creative approaches that can help when words don’t come easily. For some, drawing, writing, or other creative tools feel safer than trying to explain everything out loud.
The heart of my work is helping young people to explore their potential, build self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and develop a stronger sense of who they are.
From a parent’s perspective, I know how important it is to find the right counsellor for your child. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation, and you’re welcome to join the start of the first session. After that, sessions are usually one-to-one, with the option of staying in contact as needed.
Adults
I work with adults of all ages and from many different backgrounds. Life can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected from ourselves. For some people this builds up slowly, while for others it follows a difficult experience or change. Whatever has brought you here, counselling can provide a private and steady space to pause, reflect and begin to make sense of things.
In our sessions, you’ll find a calm and accepting environment where you can talk openly and be heard without judgement. We will explore what feels most important to you, working at your pace to find clarity and a stronger sense of direction.
Therapy is not about instant solutions, but about creating the time and space for self-understanding and growth. Many people find that over time they feel lighter, more confident and better able to move forward in ways that feel right for them.
Relationship Counselling
Every relationship has its ups and downs. Sometimes patterns of conflict, poor communication or distance can leave you feeling stuck.
Counselling offers a safe, neutral space to talk openly and understand what is happening between you. I work with couples as well as other important relationships, such as parent and child, adult siblings, or family dynamics. Often the way we relate is influenced by our early attachment experiences, and therapy can help make sense of how these play out in the present.
It is not about blame, but about noticing patterns, improving communication and finding healthier ways forward. For some, this means rebuilding connection. For others, it may mean finding a more respectful way to part. My role is to support you through the process, whatever direction it takes.
Can I help you?
Making the decision to start counselling is a brave step, and it’s natural to feel uncertain about where to begin. What matters most is finding the right counsellor for you. The relationship you have with your counsellor is at the heart of the process, and it’s important that you feel comfortable, safe and understood. It’s absolutely okay to take time to find someone who feels like the right fit.
Having been through counselling myself, I know first-hand the difference it can make. It gave me clarity and a greater sense of peace with life. My aim is to offer the same opportunity to those I work with, supporting each person to find what feels right for them in their own time and way.

FAQs

Counselling is sometimes known as talking therapy. This is because it gives people the chance to talk about their problems with a trained professional in a safe and confidential environment. The term ‘counselling’ means different things to different people, but at its core, it’s a process that gives us a way to explore our feelings and emotions. By delving deeper into our thought processes, it helps us to understand why we feel, think and act the way we do' and take the last sentence out. As well as how its root cause can direct how we think and act because of it.

I am a registered member of the BACP.

Other recent training; Neurodiversity Specialist Training, Anxiety and ADHD, ADHD and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, Psychology of People Pleasing, Rebuilding Self-worth,
Continuing professional development is very important to me, I very regularly attend workshops, training courses and read A LOT! I’ve always had a ‘life long’ learning approach, way before I qualified as a counsellor. Nobody can ever know everything about anything and always being curious enables the development of knowledge and experience.
